An experimental score for 4 players, derived from frequency analysis of taqsim (تَقْسِيم) recordings. Density along x-axis determines relative pitch, density along y-axis determines relative volume, with time to be decided by players.

A case study in analog-to-digital conversion and the replicability of organic sound through codified “notation;” the score’s underlying representation is the result of an analog recording being quantized, and therefore flattened, in its conversion to the digital domain.
